What’s in a Name – Christmas Version
I have been listening to my Christmas albums one by one for the last few weeks. I decided to continue my “What’s in a Name” series by talking about 3 albums from artists with the same first name (or almost the same).
From the upbeat Driving Home for Christmas to the serious When A Child is Born, to a surprising rendition of From A Distance, Michael Ball has created a brilliant album that conveys the true meaning of the Christmas Season. Elaine Paige and Brian Kennedy make an appearance on this album to sing extraordinary duets with Michael.
“Extravergine – A Mediterranean Christmas” (2011)
This incredible album brings the feeling of a Mediterranean Christmas into your home. From traditional songs like O Santa Notte (O Holy Night) and Gioia Nel Mondo (Joy to the World) to the original Tutto é Bianoc nel Cuor’ (Everything’s White) each song is beautifully arranged to show that the joy of the season transcends languages.
“Beyond the Star” (2011)
Michael Londra lends his enchanting voice to some standard Christmas songs (The Wexford Carol, O Come, O Come Emmanuel), to two original pieces (Beyond the Star, With Strings of Lights) and several other beautiful songs (Ave Maria, Magia Sara) to create a magical blend of songs that captures your heart.
I hope you enjoy one or all of these “Michael’s.” for Christmas.
