From A Distance

From A Distance” is one of my all time favorite songs and Ronan Tynan does an incredible job singing it. His compassion is apparent in every note and he reminds me that other people are going through more difficulties then I could possibly imagine. I thought a reminder was called for, so that everyone remembers what is important in life. Thanksgiving is not the only day of the year you should give thanks for what you have.

From a distance the world looks blue and green,
and the snow-capped mountains white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
and the eagle takes to flight.

From a distance, there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land.
It’s the voice of hope, it’s the voice of peace,
it’s the voice of every man.

From a distance we all have enough,
and no one is in need.
And there are no guns, no bombs, and no diseases,
no hungry mouths to feed.

From a distance we are instruments,
marching in a common band.
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace,
they’re the songs of every man.

God is watching us. God is watching us.
God is watching us from a distance.

God is watching us. God is watching us.
God is watching us from a distance.

From a distance you look just like my friend
even though we are at war.
From a distance I just cannot comprehend
what all this fighting is for.

From a distance there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land.
And it’s the hope of hopes, it’s the love of loves,
it’s the heart of every man.

It’s the hope of hopes; it’s the love of loves.
It’s the heart of every man.

God is watching us. God is watching us.
God is watching us from a distance.

God is watching us. God is watching us.
God is watching us from a distance.

This is beautiful, Alicia. Ronan is just such a fabulous singer, and the video is wonderful. Though I don’t think God has a face, I guess for those who believe Jesus is God will enjoy seeing that. So I’m in a minority here. Beautiful.

    • I had to use something to make people think. The face would mean the most to the majority of people.
